Putting out the shoe

Then, in the evening, it's time to put out the shoe, with a carrot in it and a bowl of water for Amerigo, Sint's horse. They sing some of the songs to ensure that Sint has heard them. That night, whilst they sleep, Sint arrives on the rooftop and one of the Piets will come inside and put a small present in the shoe.
